About the Author

I was born in Budapest, Hungary - a long time ago. I went to school in Budapest and earned my M.A. at the Eötvös Loránd University of Art and Sciences.

I taught Mathematics and Technics for two years at the High school I had graduated from. After two years of teaching there, I taught the same subjects at a Junior High School. The following year I moved to the United States. Since I had limited knowledge of English, I attended some ESL schools in Boston. Luckily, in a year and a half I picked up enough to be able to help out in a Montessori Preschool. Visiting that school was an eye-opener for me. I realized how the traditional teaching was not meant for me. I recognized ways the Montessori method could be beneficial for many kids, and I decided that I wanted to be a trained Montessori Preschool teacher. This was only 3 years after I started learning English.

Because of the lack of English it took me 2.5 years to get through all the requirements (through St. Nicholas Montessori Centre, London, England). It was a very rewarding experience. My favorite part was learning about child development from birth to six. Now I have a better understanding of why children do certain things, and what their needs are.

In 1997, I moved to Denver and was working in a Montessori Preschool when my eyes caught an ad in a magazine. They were looking for teachers for a Montessori School that would be opening soon. I applied for a preschool teacher position, but ended up in a whole summer Lower Elementary Montessori Training at MECR. I started to teach at this brand new charter school as a self-directed intern. After 4 years of teaching at Compass Montessori School in Wheat Ridge, CO, I had to give up my full time job for medical reasons. You can read more about how I was blessed with a daughter after 11 years of trying to have a child on Nora's web site. I always wondered if I were able to do something different from teaching. I started self-educating myself in web design and learned enough so that I run my last school's web site among many others.

My husband and I share lots of interests even though we were born and raised on two different sides of the World. We LOVE parenting, enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking and doing all kinds of computer work.

Mark and I got married at the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, CO on June 1, 2002. We met on an online dating service and only dated a half a year before he proposed to me - on Christmas Day, on the lava rocks on the ocean shore, in Hawaii. From a very early time on we knew that we had found our soul mates in each other.

Budapest, Hungary Our first trip together to Hungary

Mark and I went to Hungary the summer of 2001. We had a wonderful time together; he met some of my family and we traveled to many places.

Sitting on lava rock in HI We spent our first Christmas in Kona, HI

We had a memorable visit with Mark's dad and his wife who live in Captain Cook, HI. Getting engaged by the ocean, standing on lava rock was one of the touchiest moments of my life.

One of the hardest things we had to go through was loosing a 3-months long pregnancy early in our relationship. Although the pregnancy itself gave us hope that I could get pregnant again, it just wouldn't happen. After numerous medical interventions in two years we decided that we would start adopting a baby. Between September and December of 2003 we had completed all the paperwork that was required by the Agency and we were only a few weeks away from getting on the waiting list when .... on Christmas Day of 2003 I took a pregnancy test and IT WAS POSITIVE!!! Our daughter, Nora Isabella was born in August 2004. You can read about my miracle pregnancy and see lots of pictures and videos of her on Nora's web site.

We are a VERY happy family; our daughter is awesome. She gives us so much joy; life would be very different without her. We cherish every moment of parenthood.
